A symbol of wealth and strength, a stone of organic origin. Referred to as the "flower of the sea." It occurs in the Mediterranean Sea, along the coasts of Tunisia and Algeria, as well as Italy. It comes in varieties: red, white, pink, and black. Specimens with the most vivid shades find their admirers in jewelry and decoration. To achieve the desired glassy shine, the hard and matte part of the coral is polished. Coral is sensitive to high temperatures, hot water, and acids. Over time, its color may fade – in such a case, a bath in hydrogen peroxide can help restore it.
