Smoky Quartz

A stone belonging to one of the many varieties of Quartz. It is characterized by a brown color that evokes smoke. This color is the result of exposure to gamma rays of Rock Crystal (colorless Quartz), which contains small amounts of aluminum, lithium, and/or sodium. Some quartz stones have needle-like inclusions of golden rutile - titanium oxide. Such quartz is called Rutile Quartz. Quartz is a neutralizer of the electromagnetic field generated by everyday devices. The energy of Smoky Quartz helps to overcome one's own shyness and fear of change.
