Jewelry Alloy

Information about the content of precious metal in jewelry: gold, silver, platinum. To make jewelry, metal alloys are needed, which harden soft metals (such as gold), change their color, and smooth the surface. The accuracy of the alloy is estimated at 0.001 of the ratio of the mass of the precious metal to the total mass of the alloy. For example – an alloy of gold 0.333 means that in 1000 units of alloy mass, the precious metal constitutes 333 units (this is also known as 8-carat gold), an alloy of gold 0.585 means that in 1000 units of alloy mass, the precious metal constitutes 585 units (this is also known as 14-carat gold). Gold of alloy 0.750 is 18 carats, and the most valuable gold is 24-carat gold (alloy 0.999).
